AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR DERMAPLANING?

The ideal candidate for Dermaplaning has dry, rough, uneven, or aging skin- this is not necessarily age associated, it can very well be from over-exhausting the skin due to many circumstances, above all, depleting hydration and life activities that are not in the best interest of your well-being. In addition to rejuvenating and preserving the skins surface, within in reasonable planned treatments, Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of  fine lines, [superficial hyper-pigmentation] and shallow acne scars.

Is dermaplaning a safe treatment?

If preformed by a properly trained and certified practitioners, Dermaplaning is very safe. Many question if shaving the skin is safe, especially when considering the facial area; by performing a gentle scraping motion across the surface of the skin, there is nothing more invasive than the experience of shaving. There are no risks, and there is no downtime to this procedure. In certain rare instances, there are risks of micro cuts due to the pressure but usually heal within 24 - 48 hours, but are very rare.

DOES dermaplaning MAKE THE HAIR GROW BACK THICKER OR DARKER?

There are typically two types of hair growth across the face and body, Vellus hair and Terminal hair. The Vellus hair is what is typically grown across the most of the body areas and Terminal hair is what grows in focused areas such as the pubic region, underarms and scalp.The Vellus hair is softer and finer and is found in areas other than the lips. Vellus hair will always grow back with the same texture and an individuals typical rate of hair growth.  This procedure is a combination of skin surfacing and evening by removing the top tiered skin and the accompanied fuzz that causes the skin to appear uneven. With this treatment, not only does the skin revive and look its best, it also lends a clean smooth canvas for makeup application, as well as allows the skin to breathe, reducing inflammation, ingrown hairs and acne.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN  dermaplaning AND MICRODERMABRASION?

Dermaplaning removes the [peach] hair fuzz and dead surface layer skin cells, Microdermabrasion does perform a similar process, but does not equally reach as deep and have the same level of results, however both exfoliate.

HOW FREQUENTLY CAN YOU PREFORM dermaplaning?

HOW DOES RF MICRONEEDLING WORK?

Microneedling is the process of applying a series of sterile micro-needles into the deeper inner dermis (skin), the technique of this process creates tiny channels within the skin's collagen producing layer, in doing so, this stimulates and accelerates natural collagen production.  This regeneration process delivers radio- frequency heat to the concentrated areas, tightening and lifting the skin, eseentially remodeling to a more youthful self.

HOW LONG DOES THE VIRTUE RF TREATMENT TAKE?

Depending on the selected area, the time varies.  As the face is a very popular area that many focus on, the actual procedure time is approximately 20 minutes, considering the prep time and post care, a 45 minute to 1 hour is reserved at minimum to ensure a smooth and well treated experience.

Depending on the area being focused on, a patient may certainly feel minor momentary discomfort and that feeling is unique to an individuals threshold for discomfort.  Many describe the discomfort as a zap or a snap of a rubber bad against the skin- this is the feeling of the hair follicle being targeted at the root but mainly felt in areas where there is any external hair growth still visible, and the reason a fine shave or fade is suggested to reduce that uncomfortable sensation.

how does Laser Hair Removal work?

Whichever type of laser is selected for the particular session, in all, all lasers work on pulses- our team also refers to them as frequencies as there are low , mid and accelerated levels. The pulses deliver a distribution of light into the skin, in the prefaced areas that destroys the follicle of the hair and the root [In technical terms the laser heats up the melanin absorbs the light and heats].  Once this process is achieved, hair will no longer regrow in that area. For optimal results, the hair should be targeted during what is considered an active growth phase- once the hair is its active regrowth period, the hair is targeted. As each hair has its own hair growth pattern, multiple sessions are required to ensure that all hair in the surrounding / concentrated has been treated.

This process is very safe and has been approved by the FDA as a safe method and solution to unwanted hair, as long as a licensed practitioner [properly certified by State] performs the procedure.

AT WHAT AGE IS laser Hair Removal SUGGESTED?

Generally, it is not suggested for anyone to consider laser hair removal before puberty, and certainly females should not consider hair removal prior to have started their menstrual cycle

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

At least three days prior to the patient's service, it is suggested to avoid taking any medications, with the most specific being blood thinners, pain relievers, and Non-steroidal

anti-inflammatory drugs that are usually used to decrease inflammation, fever, and to prevent blood clots.  It is also suggested that you prepare for your service by bathing and shaving in the concentrated areas, and do not apply and creams, lotions, moisturizers or fragrance in the target areas that will be treated, and surrounding areas.  If  the treatment is focused on the face, all make-up and lotions of any type should be removed with a delicate non-comedogenic cleanser.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS TO LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

It is very rare to experience side effects, however certain individuals due experience minor temporary redness, sometimes a swelling of the skin, light itching or mild temporary numbness. This type of experience usually subsides within a few hours, and most can be remedied post sessions with Aloe Vera, or specific homeopathic relief creams and essential oils that the practitioner will apply to the treated area. In rare cases, if the pre and post care is not properly followed, and patients are exposed to the sun following a session, or apply treatment creams such as Retinoid, scars, blisters or minor burns may be experienced.

It is a known fact however, that individuals with light skin and dark hair do see faster results than individuals with darker skin tone, or lighter hair. *It is not suggested for a pregnant woman to get any type of laser hair removal during pregnancy at any stage.
